Farmers are jumping on the bandwagon

September 30, 2009

More and more farmers from across the nation and through out the world are connecting through social sites. I currently have a facebook page, a blog, and a twitter account. I am going to focus on twitter today. Twitter is a “microblogging” site, which allows a person to post anything up to 140 characters at a time. The character limit can be a good and bad thing. Sometimes your post is one character too many and that gets annoying. There are hundreds of thousands of farmers and agriculturalist on twitter. They tweet about what is happening in their area of the world. Many also try to educate the public on what is happening. Many farmers that are on twitter also have farm websites and/or blogs. One farmer even posted a creative video on youtube . . . These are all great ways for farmers to get their products, ideas, and messages out to the public and other farmers.
